Kenyans have welcomed with nostalgia the announcement that once popular ready-to-drink juice TreeTop is about to return in supermarket shelves with the opening of a production plant for the beverage in Juja.

TreeTop was last sold in Kenyan shops 20 years ago -in 1995.

Bernard Njoroge, a former director of juice processor Delmonte Kenya, is behind the Sh500 million factory, reported Business Daily.

Mr Njoroge, who is the chairman of Sky Foods, said that he acquired the TreeTop juice brand from Unilever Kenya about three years ago.

“There is strong demand coming from the middle class. The product was popular with Kenyans for many years,” said Mr Njoroge who resigned last year from Delmonte where he worked as the marketing and sales director for 15 years.

Here, we bring you other brands that ruled our world in the 90s, which, sadly, only those who grew up in that decade will relate to.
