Harambee Stars striker Micheal Olunga could finalize his move to top Swedish club Djuargarden as early as this week, Nairobi News has established.

It is understood that the former Gor Mahia forward has impressed his Scandinavian suitors during the two weeks that he has been training with the club.

The Liberty Academy player is part of the team’s squad currently training in Turkey ahead of the start of the Swedish League season.

Although he is yet to find the back of the net in three friendly matches, Olunga is expected to feature in a high profile build-up match against a select side of Romanian giants Steua Bucharest on Thursday evening.

IMPRESSIVE SEASON

“I believe he (Olunga) has impressed the technical bench. There are a couple of other build up matches lined up and thereafter the decision on whether to sign him or not will be made, say in a week’s time,” a source who is privy to the deal told Nairobi News.

Following an impressive season for both club and country, which saw him being voted the 2015 Kenyan Premier League Most Valuable Player (MVP), Olunga has been on the wishlist of several clubs in Africa, Europe and Asia.

The Kenyan international has until the end of March – which is the Swedish transfer window deadline – to put pen to paper on a deal with his prospective new club.
