Jaro Soja: I’m a victim of Gor Mahia politics

Gor Mahia fan Jared Abong’o aka Jaro Soja has come out publicly to clear his name of alleged assault saying he is a victim of politics within the club.

Speaking exclusively to Nairobi News on Friday when he appeared before the Kibera Law Courts to answer to charges of assaulting Gor Mahia Secretary General David Kiilo, Jaro Soja denied any wrong doing but reached out to his accuser for reconciliation.

“I did not assault him. All this has alot to do with politics within the club. I will talk to Kiilo and convince him that I don’t have any ill intentions,” Jaro Soja said.

CASE WITHDRAWAL

The fan, who is famous for branding almost every aspect of his life with Gor Mahia colours, was nabbed by police officers on Thursday and taken to Langata Police Station following a complaint served by Kiilo but was later released on a Sh10,000 bond.

Meanwhile, speaking to Nairobi News earlier, Kiilo maintained that he won’t withdraw the legal suit insisting that Jaro Soja hit him with a chair moments after Gor Mahia lost to Malagasy side CNaPS in a Caf Champions League match at the Nyayo Stadium last month.

“I want the law to take its course. Nothing or nobody will make me change my mind. Infact, if someone comes in with an offer to withdraw the case, then I will expose them. We need to take these hooliganism cases seriously,” Kiilo said.
