49-year-old singer R. Kelly is dating a 19 year-old girl – PHOTOS
American R and B singer R. Kelly, well-known for his latest songs like ‘When a woman loves‘ and ‘ Backyard party‘, is dating a 19 year-old model.
R. Kelly, 49, was spotted over the weekend getting cozy with 19 year-old named Halle Calhoun at a local club in Atlanta, Georgia.
Reports indicate the two first met in February 2016, when Calhoun and her mother attended one of R. Kelly’s concerts. She had the opportunity to meet the singer backstage and the two have stayed in touch since.
When R. Kelly’s hit song ‘I Believe I can Fly’ topped chats in 1997, Calhoun was not born yet.
The singer’s past has been haunting him since 2002, when he was charged with child pornography after a video of him allegedly having sex and urinating on an underage girl became public.
He was later acquitted of the charges in 2008.
Even prior to that, he engaged in a very controversial relationship with then underage Aaliya, ultimately marrying her and producing her debut studio album, Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number.
In a 2016 interview, Mr Kelly finally touched on the subject, saying, “I can tell you I loved her, I can tell you she loved me, we was very close. We were, you know, best best best best friends.”
When asked if he felt like he did anything wrong in regards to his relationship with Aaliyah, he said, “That’s my answer forever: Absolutely not.”
