500 workers stranded as Kimaiyo takes their office

September 19th, 2013 1 min read

Some civil servants were on Thursday locked out of their work places following the takeover of an office block by the Inspector General of Police.

The more than government 500 workers from four departments had reported to work early at the Jogoo House Block A only to be denied access to their offices by police.

They had to wait for more than three hours on Taifa Road and Harambee Avenue before information on their new offices began trickling in.

The affected departments included Coordination of National Government, Information, Devolution and Children Affairs.
