Family demands justice after 7-year-old girl’s defilement by teenage boys

A family in Eastleigh is seeking justice after their 7-year-old girl was reportedly defiled by two teenage boys.

The family says that the girl, who just moved to Nairobi recently from Uganda, was on her way home from school when the incident happened.

“She came home and locked herself in the bedroom and took off her trouser and wanted to throw it away so that no one will know,” said the victim’s sister.

The victims’ relatives claim that she was accosted by the two boys along Eastleigh’s 5th Street and taken to a shack where one of the teenage boys aged 13 years held her as his accomplice defiled her.

DEFILEMENT

After they were done, they started kicking her before leaving her there.

Police later arrested one of the suspects but released him on a Sh30,000 bond.

The latest incident raises concern over the increased cases of defilement in the area amidst challenges in delivering justice to the victims owing to community interference.

BRUTAL MURDER

Last month, police arrested four suspects in connection with the murder of a 13-year-old girl in Eastleigh Estate.

Asmahan Abdisalan is suspected to have been brutally murdered in her aunt’s house.

The victim’s 28-year-old aunt, Nadhifa Mohammed, was later arrested and arraigned at the Makadara Law Courts.

Neighbours claim the aunt used to lock up the victim in one bedroom during the day and her interaction with neighbours was always minimal. They could only hear activity in the house at night.

They also claim that the girl used to be locked in the house after she stopped attending school months ago. The neighbours also suspect the girl was being used as a sex toy.
