Close to 9,000 graduands will today be awarded with degrees and diplomas in various fields at the 50th graduation ceremony of the University of Nairobi.

Of the 8,853 graduands, 5,460 will be awarded bachelor degrees, 2,558 with masters degrees, 693 with  diplomas and 81 with post graduate diploma awards.

60 Doctor of Philosophy Degrees will also be conferred.

UoN Academic affairs Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof Henry Mutoro says this will be largest group the University has ever awarded at single graduation ceremony since its opening in 1964.

“The graduation ceremony in August saw 6,000 students graduate. So this year UoN is churning out more than 15,000 graduands to the job market,” he said.
