95 year-old granny charged with stealing Sh900, 000
A 95 year-old woman was on Thursday charged with stealing Sh900, 000 as accrued rent in four years.
Esther Nyambura Wachira denied the charge and was released on a personal bond of Sh100, 000.
Prosecution told the Court that she allegedly committed the offence between 2000 and 2014 in Nairobi’s Shauri Moyo’s estate.

She had spent Wednesday night in cold cells at the Kilimani police station in Nairobi before being taken to court.
Her lawyer Mr Wangalwa Oudo told Chief Magistrate Daniel Ogembo that the elderly grandmother has arthritis, diabetes and hypertesion.
The magistrate said her children should clear the cash bail on her behalf as well as ensure that she is availed in court whenever she is needed.
Her case will be allocated a one-day hearing.
However, there is another pending criminal case at the High Court in which Ms Wachira is among the disputing parties regarding the same plot.
