Award-winning boy band Sauti Sol issued a post-event statement after KOT termed their event as “boring”.

Some of their fans shared their disappointment with the band at the SolFest concert on Saturday at the KICC.

The event received backlash after Sauti Sol, the headliner, reportedly appeared on stage on Sunday morning around 3 AM and performed for less than an hour.

A fan identified as Msee Wa Mjengo said he paid his Sh3,500 for boredom.

“You could have done better. How do you come on stage at 4am? Your fans aren’t there to be punished.”

In a statement, the band thanked Kenyans for their honest opinion and for showing up at the event in large numbers.

Sauti Sol mentioned that SolFest is a major platform focusing more on the artists invited to perform and not just Sauti Sol.

“We intended to put on a spectacular event, ensuring each artist and group received enough time to deliver their very best performances to all fans,” they said in part.

The band added that they also focused more on the local talent who were performing and their international guests.

His tweet was not received well by the band’s diehard fans, who specifically bought tickets to watch them perform.
