You have caused enough chaos in the country, Ruto tells Raila and Uhuru
President William Ruto has maintained that his government will not give up on protecting Kenyans and their property against Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya Coalition’s anti-government protests.
Speaking on Thursday in Tharaka Nithi County, President Ruto asked Azimio leader Raila Odinga and former President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop causing chaos and mayhem in the country.
“You handshake brothers are using young people to destroy people’s properties. You don’t want us to move on and build our country. But I am telling you that we will separate ourselves from your people (Raila and Uhuru),” President Ruto said.
He added that Mr Odinga has a track record of causing chaos.

“We will continue protecting Kenyans and their properties against destruction by Azimio. He (Raila) is known for causing chaos in government. He has contested for presidency five times and has failed in all his endeavors,” President Ruto said.
“He caused chaos in Moi’s era and thousands of people died. He did the same during the late Mwai Kibaki’s era. He also came and lied to Uhuru and that’s how the country’s economy crumbled,” the Head of State said.
“He is back again in my government. Leading protest every now and again. Making innocent people die. He is also using young people to destroy people’s property. He is against my government creating job opportunities for these young Kenyans.”
The President further said the Building Bridges Initiative that Mr Kenyatta and Mr Odinga spearheaded sabotaged the government’s Big Four Agenda.

The President Ruto made the remarks after Mr Odinga declared told President William Ruto’s government to prepare for a third wave of the protests.
Addressing journalists on Wednesday afternoon at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation in Nairobi, Mr Odinga termed the countrywide protests a success despite police brutality and an alleged plot by the Kenya Kwanza government to attack innocent Kenyans at Kamukunji grounds.
Mr Odinga said the protests were about Kenyans refusing to move on until they get a good deal from from President Ruto.
“We agree with them (the people). This time around, there is no moving on until Ruto shows a readiness to listen to and respect the people. The people deserve a deal, not bullets and tear gas,” he said.
