Mystery surrounds death of man linked to 12-year-old boy’s murder

The death of Mr Eric Kiptoo Kipsang, the suspect linked to the murder of a 12-year-old boy at Kapsoya in Eldoret Town, Uasin Gishu County, has left many unanswered questions.

Ainabkoi Sub County police commander Alois Muthoka revealed that the suspect passed away while receiving treatment for chest pains at a local hospital on Sunday, March 26, 2023.

The suspect was reportedly arrested while planning to commit suicide by throwing himself into a dam.

Police officers noticed deep cuts on both his hands and found blood-soaked clothes at his house.

The detectives believe that inside that house, the minor met his death before the suspect dumped his body.

“A pillow full of blood was found and a basin also had some blood. The family claims that the man had some mental problems,” said Muthoka.

Ms Linda Jemutai, the mother of the minor, said that her son had been missing and when she heard of the reports that a body had been found, she went to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue only to find out that it was him.

The police arrested the suspect’s father, Mr Solomon Kipsang arap Tarus, after a village elder reported seeing a white probox with registration number KBQ 327W drop the minor’s body by the Koilel-Chepkoilel road.
