A successful year for the Bull Fighter Khalwale as daughter scores B+

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale is almost always known to have a candidate in his household sitting the national exams over the past few years and has done it again.

The legislator is known to be the first one to, at least, congratulate a member of his family every time national exam results are released, and on Monday just did that.

Taking to X, soon after the release of this year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE) results were announced, the legislator celebrated one Gift Atubukha Khalwale who scored an A- (Minus).

“Congratulations, Gift Atubukha Khalwale! I want to thank my family, the entire St Brigids High School-Kiminini fraternity, and above all, God for supporting my little Tubu to this milestone,” he posted on X.

She scored a B Plain in English, Kiswahili, and Biology, each subject, and a B – in Mathematics. Physics received a C, Chemistry earned a B +, History and Government achieved a clean A, and Christian Religious Education got an A -.

The Senator shared a photo of his elated daughter dressed in a yellow blouse and light blue faded trouser.

This is not the first time the politician affiliated with the Kenya Kwanza Government has celebrated his children’s success in KCSE.

In 2022, one of his daughters excelled in the form four national exams, scoring an A – with 75 points.

The same year, a twin brother to the daughter garnered a C + with 47 points.

Famously known as the “bullfighter”, Dr Khalwale in 2021 also celebrated a son for achieving a B + with 67 points in KCSE.

Over the years, the politician has consistently shared his children’s performance in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).

Online, Kenyans expressed their joy at Dr Khalwale’s yearly tradition of sharing and celebrating his children’s results.

Last year, the Senator caused a stir in the Senate when he claimed to have many children, among them ladies, and wives, in response to a female colleague who raised a gender question on the floor of the house.

Khalwale defended himself saying he is well versed with gender issues as he is a father to many girls and a husband to more than one wife.

He had earlier also posted a congratulatory message after another child was born into his family, this time around a grandchild.

A total of 1,216 who have scored a mean grade of A in the 2023 Form Four national exams, the results released on Monday, January 8.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu said the top scorers included 825 male students and 391 females, making up 0.14 percent of the total candidature.

Overall, the minister said 201,133 candidates, comprising 22.27 percent of the total, qualified to join universities.
