Abandoned car towed away, owner identified
An abandoned car in one of Nairobi’s estates has finally been towed away by the Police after Nairobi News exclusively reported the story on Friday morning.
The vehicle, a new silver Toyota station wagon registration number KCB 468S, was abandoned by unknown people along Pipeline Road in Kitengela where it stayed for five days.
The presence of the slightly damaged vehicle became a source of concern for the area residents who suspected that it had been dumped on the spot by thugs who probably got involved in an accident after hijacking it.
“The car was towed away by the Police on Friday afternoon. The owner was finally tracked down via a device installed in the vehicle and he finally recovered it,” an area resident told Nairobi News on Sunday.
The incident has however left several residents questioning security agencies in the wake of slow response by the Police even with increased incidents of thefts and carjackings in the area.
