Actress Njambi opens up on ‘step-mom’ challenges

Popular actress Njambi says she never punishes her stepson without express instructions from his mother.

The 30-year-old explains that even though she has to discipline her kids when they go astray, it is, at times, a tricky one trying to correct her stepson.

“Before I reach the point of disciplining my stepson,” she explained in an interview with NTV.

“I first communicate with his mother explaining what he has done so that she can decide what would be best for her son. At first, she wasn’t for the idea of disciplining him (beating him), but luckily for me, she knows the son. She knows he is the kind to overstep, so she gave me the green light.”

Besides the experience, Njambi, born Bernice Njeri, and who starred in the Real House helps of Kawangware series, adds that her ambition of a ‘blended’ family made sense to her owing to the responsibilities her hubby would face.

“I really wanted to be with someone who already has a kid, someone who is responsible and knows how to take care of a kid,” she explained in an interview with NTV.

She has a daughter from a previous relationship while her husband also has a son and stresses that she enjoys a cordial relationship with her stepson’s mother.

“We communicate, she comes to my house, we talk. She respects me, I respect her.”
