Adebayor linked to Tanzanian giant club Yanga

Could Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor be set for a move to to Tanzania?

That is the word on the street in Gabon after a football agent revealed on social media that a deal has been agreed in principle between the former Arsenal star and Yanga FC.

The Tanzania club have already showcased their ambition in the past few months by luring Zesco United’s title winning coach George Lwandamina to Dar es Salaam and were also said to be interested in Kenyan star striker Jesse Were.

A move for Ade would however represent a much bigger coup, considering the forward has also played for Manchester City, Monaco and Real Madrid.

He was part of the Togo squad that suffered elimination from the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in the group stage after failing to beat Ivory Coast, DR Congo and Morocco.

Yanga will also have to splash real cash to lure Adebayor who at one point earned Sh25 million a week at Manchester City.

A possible deal may have to wait till June as the Tanzanian transfer window is closed until then.
