After Sonko, another Nairobi MP loses dad
Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati has lost his father.
The MP told Nairobi News that Mzee Arati Oroni died Sunday after a long battle with cancer.
He has been in and out of hospitals including Nairobi hospital, MP shah hospital and Kenyatta National Hospital.
He finally succumbed while in the house at age of 87 years.
Mr Simba Arati, who sensationally challenged Cord leader Raila Odinga to be ODM’s torch bearer in the 2013 general election, is the second legislator to lose his father in a span of hours.
Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko also lost his father on Sunday evening. Gideon Kioko Kivanguli had been admitted at the Intensive Care Unit at a Nairobi hospital.
Sonko’s father had also been in and out of hospital this year. His condition worsened last week and he was rushed to hospital for treatment.
