Akon, 2 Chainz set for performances on Jamhuri Day

It will be double treat for Nairobians on Jamhuri Day with two international artistes set to perform in the country.

Akon confirmed last week that he will perform pro-bono in Kenya on December 12, which many interpret as a way of cementing his new-found friendship with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

And it appears American rapper 2 Chainz will perform in Nairobi after all after his planned performance failed to materialize the last minute last month,

The “Birthday Song” rapper was supposed to headline the second annual Jameson live party art the Ngong racecourse on November 1 alongside other leading hip hop acts.

SET TO PERFORM

But his performance was cancelled the last minute due to “reasons beyond Jameson’s control”.

The four time grammy award nominee is now set to perform on Jamhuri Day at the Ngong Racecourse, according to the Jameson Brand Ambassador to Kenya George Karanu.

Jameson have already confirmed 2 Chainz planned performance on their website and so is the star who has been promoting the performance on his social media accounts for the last few days.

“Next Month: 2 chainz @ Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi, Kenya on Dec 12,” 2 Chainz wrote last week on his Face book page.

SOLD OUT

Just like the failed performance, the one scheduled on December 12 is already sold out as confirmed by the rapper himself on his twitter account last week.

“3 weeks left and we already #soldout to Kenya’s biggest sold-out @Jameson_ea #JamesonLiveKE’ “ he twitted.

Tickets were retailing at Sh1,500 for gallery and Sh5000 for VIP.
