Is Akon buying Uhuru a Sh33.6 million gift?
Could President Uhuru Kenyatta’s new BFF and Senegalese music star Akon be hatching a multi-million surprise gift?.
The Senegalese singer is reported to have ordered for a 2014 Mercedes Sprinter with instructions to the manufacturer to reinforce it with bulletproof armor.
Entertainment website TMZ said the musician told the auto firm that the van will be a gift to an unnamed African president.
The website said the gift is an eight-seater van rebuilt with the armor, plus a ton of bells and whistles inside; DirecTV and surround sound, all iPad controlled.
The exterior is said to be very plain and the best guess TMZ could offer was that it is meant for Senegalese President Macky Sal.
Though the order was made a year ago, chances of it being a gift to President Uhuru are high as the two are great friends.
Akon was in Kenya in September 2014 during which he and his wife met President Kenyatta at Statehouse.
