Akothee, Cebbie Koks put aside their differences to shred Rue Baby’s haters

By Winnie Mabel February 24th, 2023 3 min read

For the first time in a very long time, sisters Akothee and Cebbie Koks are on the same side of drama directed at their family. This after some social media users claimed that Akothee was pretending that one of her daughters, Rue, had graduated but had borrowed Vesha Shaillan’s graduation gown and taken pictures in it and posted on social media.

This came on the heels of Akothee celebrating her youngest daughter’s, Fancy Makadia, graduation earlier this week and announcing she was already commencing on obtaining her Masters degree. She also bragged about her older daughters graduating in 2020 and 2021 but critics were quick to say that Akothee was taking people for a ride by faking Rue Baby’s graduation.

In an explosive Instagram post, Akothee named and shamed women who were shading her girls’ achievements, saying she would be ashamed to embarrass herself like those who’d made nasty comments in the face of her having three graduates in her household.

“I would be soo ashamed to embarrass myself like these women on the comments 🤣 yaani Kenyans can’t imagine Akothee has 3 graduands 🤣🤣(Kwani watoto wenu wote walizaa form 1). When your success looks like a movie, congratulatory changes into envy upgraded to denials 🤣🤣🤣 Welcome to Kenya where we live by imaginations. So it’s either Strathmore University to address me as a parent as to why the gowns look alike for Class 2020 Bachelor of Commerce which is similar to class 2021 Bachelor of International Relations,” Akothee said.

“If they don’t address this issue, I am going to Strathmore for my school fee 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Looks like one of my daughters didn’t get the right gown for her graduation 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Even the background of the school should have changed. Nyinyi Strathmore ni aje (what is up) by the way. Welcome to Kenya where watu ni wajinga sanaaa kwa akili, na werevu kwa kuandika (people are very ignorant but are intelligent to write things) 🤣🤣🤣,” Akothee went on as she named and shamed the haters with screenshots of their comments.

Hours later, Cebbie Koks backed with Akothee. In her statement, Cebbie slammed the haters, telling them to go through the university’s class of 2021 graduates and they will find her niece’s name in the list.

“Do we even have to explain to you, we go to school and when we do it, we don’t stop till the end. Rue is a graduate. Self evidence, self explanatory and you can also Google her name from 2021 class. What’s so difficult! This temporary consolation of trying to drag people to your corner of failure should stop. Again. Sometimes the problem is not even what you say, its how lies go unchallenged and later you all run with it and make it so real and true!

Or you think we wouldn’t know how crazy you would have trolled her if she didn’t graduate! Tseee! I can’t believe grown women are running around to dispute, yaani strongly dismissing facts in the name of whatever. Lol. To you celebrity and public figures don’t deserve ayting and even anything they don’t deserve at all! Wooow! Yet when they said celebrities/public figures don’t get them, you still don’t get them. Bwana! There is enough for everyone. Please! Alafu tukidefend ooh! Tuko bitter, mara tuko petty, mara tuko na makasiriko,” said Cebbie Koks.

This will be the first time in a long time that the sisters publicly stood on one side following years of family drama between the two of them. So broken down is their relationship that they do not see eye to eye to the point of Akothee announcing she would not be attending her sister’s wedding. Akothee accused her sister of badmouthing her and spreading lies about her especially when she was sick in hospital and this was the final nail in the coffin burying their relationship.

It would, however, appear that their nieces are reason enough for them to bury the hatchet and protect their larger family from false allegations and critics.
