Kenyan singer Esther Akoth aka Akothee suggests she fell in love at a time she was fighting depression.

Akothee who’s excitedly been sharing her latest love story on social media further indicated she was not keen on a relationship at the time she got hitched.

“I was just chilling on my holidays after a long episode of fighting depression. I wasn’t looking for a relationship,” the kula ngoma hitmaker explained.

The initial plan, Akothee says, was to ‘rest’ for two or three years before trying another relationship but things happened faster than she anticipated.

“I am equally in shock. I have been pinching myself if it is true.”

Noting that for the past three months she thought it was a ‘joke’ before the affair got ‘serious’.

Akothee announced she was in a relationship in a recent video where she was frolicking on the sand at a beach shore in Mombasa with her supposed new mzungu bae.

“Sawa basi, It’s yeeeeeeeeees Someone tell my mum atoke tuu church aende home (tell her to stop praying in church and go home). I went for a lunch date in Mombasa shortly.”

The mother of five’s latest relationship comes months after her breakup with ex-lover cum manager Nelly Oaks.

This was after her fans realized that their past photos were deleted from her Instagram account.

The businesswoman sought to clarify that she was solely focused on promoting her newly launched book and album, and not in any position for relationship commitments.

She would then tell her followers that she would not go into details of what transpired because of the respect she had for him and focus on her life and children.

Travelling to France and Paris to meet up with her children, Akothee would later share how it was tough being a single mom and constantly shared how she missed her children.
