Akothee: It’s my car, don’t be fooled by the number plate

Kenyan singer Akothee has refuted claims that her new Toyota Prado TX with customised number plates belongs to the county government.

Akothee warned those behind the reports that she is driving a county government vehicle to stop spreading the rumours, adding that she has no connections in the county government.

“I have no relationship with any county government for them to give me a car to drive around. I am not a First Lady or county secretary,” Akothee said on Instagram.

The mother of five also said people should not be misled by the number plate of her new car, explaining that it’s a Kenya Garage Number plate. She said that she will pick her original number plate next week.

She explained that Kenya Garage Number plates are given when one is impatient of waiting for the number plates to come out.

“You can drive out of the show room with The Kenya Garage Number plate. Before It was red and now it’s green. That is what I have been using as I wait for my original number plate,” she said.

The self-proclaimed president of single mothers reiterated the brand new car is a gift from her new bae who, she says,  she is planning to wed.

The Kula Ngoma hitmaker also said that she cannot clout chase a car worth Sh6.8 million.

“My fiancée bought me a car as a gift. I am still enjoying the Kenya Garage Number plate until next week when my number plate will be out. Stop misleading my fans and make them think I am a clout chaser. Esther Akoth chases clouts with these small things? No!” she said.
