Albino man dies after machete attack for his body parts
A 56-year-old albino who was attacked early this month by unknown people in Vihiga County succumbed to his injuries five days after he was discharged from hospital.
Mr Enock Jamenya died Monday morning after complaining of a severe headache.
He sustained injuries on the head, neck and hand following an attack he suffered on September 10.
Family members said the attackers wanted his body parts to sell in Tanzania.
“My brother had been complaining of severe headache since the attack,” said his brother, Mr Nixon Lugadiru.
Mr Lugadiru they were living in fear as most of them, including himself, have the albinism condition.
National coordinator of Albinism Empowerment Network Martin Wanyonyi and Vihiga MP Yusuf Chanzu condoled the family.
“I am shocked that our brother is dead just a day after we sat together,” said Mr Wanyonyi.
