Alfred Mutua: This is why I left Wiper Party

Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader and Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has accused the Wiper Democratic Movement of sabotaging his government during the last four years.

Dr Mutua on Tuesday said that he quit the Wiper party to form his own political outfit after realizing that the Kalonzo Musyoka led party was engaged in retrogressive politics.

Speaking at Nguluni, Tala, Kinyui, Katheka and Ndonyo Sabuk towns in Matungulu constituency in Machakos County, Dr Mutua also described his stay in the Wiper party as tormenting as he was fought by the party’s top brass.

“The party even supported it’s MCA’s to impeach me. Their mission was to slow me down in my development agenda, ” said Dr Mutua.

DEVELOPMENT AGENDA

Mutua at the same time lashed out at the Wiper party and its top leadership saying it has nothing to offer the Kamba Nation.

He urged the electorate to vote for his party candidates saying they are committed to transformative politics and a people-driven leadership.

“Wiper leaders did not at any time when we had meetings discuss development. Their agenda was always to undermine other leaders,” he said.

Dr Mutua said that his party has attracted many aspirants and supporters and will play a key role in the country’s politics.

UHURU’S REELECTION

He accused Mr Musyoka of failure to transform the region politically and economically during the many years he has been in positions of power.

The Chap Chap party leader said he supports President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reelection but his party was affiliated to neither Jubilee Party nor Nasa.

“We agreed with President Kenyatta that our people will be considered for senior state positions in his next government. As a community we cannot allow ourselves to be sidelined in the dishing out of top posts,” he said.

He also said his government has upgraded the road network, essentially opening up rural Machakos for business and communication.
