Alikiba tests positive for Covid ahead of his US Tour
Tanzania’s Bongo star Alikiba has cancelled his US music tour after testing positive for Covid-19.
The crooner who announced his Instagram stories said, “To all my dear fans who have been impatiently waiting for the commencement of My Only One King US Tour, 2022 which was to commence on 2nd September, I’m truly saddened and devastated to say that I have tested positive for Covid-19.”
Apologizing for the inconveniences caused, Alikiba-born Ali Saleh Kiba added, “We are forced to postpone and reschedule to the soonest day possible. Nothing is more important to me than the health of my band, crew and you, my fans.”
The Mwana hitmaker’s tour was to begin from September 2, 2022, to October 1, 2022, with the artiste performing in different states.
The states included; Washington, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Des Moines, Atlanta, Lexington, Manchester, Chicago, Dallas and Houston.
The hitmaker released his third album dubbed the Only One King in 2021, with which he incorporated artists like Patoranking, Sauti Sol, and Khaligraph Jones among others.
With 16 songs, Alikiba released his ‘Only One King’ album after 10 years of not releasing any music project.
Speaking during its release, Alikiba said, “I am so excited about this project and I am thankful to my fans for being patient. 10 years are quite a lot since I released my last album and this album is dedicated to my day 1 fans.”
The songs have had numerous feedback and engagement from Alikiba’s as well as his collaborators’ fans with the tunes performing well on various music platforms.
However, Alikiba has kept his marriage under wraps while engaging with his new album and shares little about his Kenyan wife Amina Khalef.
