Amina Mohammed’s condolences message that got KOT all worked up

Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed has stoked the wrath of Kenyans on Twitter after she sent condolences message to the family of slain Russia ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Karlov.

In a series of tweets, Ms Mohammed expressed her shock on learning of the news of the killing, but Kenyans on Twitter seized the opportunity to ‘coach’ her on what she should have been more shocked about.

Users expressed their disappointment with the minister for not commenting on the death of Kenyan engineer, Zakayo Muriuki Gatimu, in Ethiopia.

Mr Muriuki died in a prison in Addis Ababa, after his arrest and detention alongside another Kenyan.

The other engineer is still in custody in the Ethiopian capital even as the ministry remains tight-lipped on the incident.

Kenyans on Twitter urged the Foreign Affairs ministry to ensure the safety of Kenyans abroad even as it condoles with foreign envoys killed in other countries.
