City men have gone public accusing their wives of plotting to kill them.

More than 400 husbands have complained officially to the police that their families want them dead so they can inherit their property.

And many more have died mysteriously.

They have been poisoned or tracked down by hitmen, according to a report by Maendeleo ya Wanaume.

“Men between the ages of 45-55 years are dying mysterious deaths planned by their wives,” said Nderitu Njoka, chairman of the organisation.

“When men report these matters to police, they are often dismissed and ridiculed. Police ask you ‘Are not man enough that your wife wants to finish you? Police also want to see evidence, which is sometimes very difficult to have,” said Mr Njoka.
