Citizen TV anchor Yvonne Okwara loses big bro Albert
By SYLVANIA AMBANICitizen TV news anchor Yvonne Okwara has lost her big brother Albert Okwara.
She broke the news to her fans on social media in an emotional message to her deceased brother who had a combination of sight and hearing impairment.
Yvonne thanked friends and family who have stood by her through the journey that has helped her learn a lot in life.
“I’ve lost my beloved brother! A few years ago, I gained the courage to speak about his disability and our family’s long journey with him. So many of you reached out to me and were kind and empathetic! I thank you. My journey with Albert Okwara is now over, at least in this realm. He left us as peacefully and as quietly as he lived his entire life. My heart is broken, but my memories are full. Goodbye my beloved Albert! Fly with the angels,” wrote Yvonne Okwara on Instagram.
Ms Okwara first spoke about her experience growing up with a deafblind brother in 2016..
In her narration, she outlined how she had to take up the role of big sister to help her disabled brother, and in the process losing her own childhood.
