City businessman Raj Devani may face charges of misuse of a firearm after he allegedly fired his gun to break padlocks at Shimmers plaza.

The building, located in Westlands, is the subject of an ownership dispute in court between Mr Devani and the National bank.

Mr Devani owned the building but it was later sold to another businessman by a bank.

His pistol was confiscated after he recorded a statement at Parklands Police Station.

“We are likely to charge him with misuse of the firearm,” said Parklands DCIO Danny Kandie.
