Ekuru says he will attend presidential debate

Presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot has confirmed that he will attend the presidential debate scheduled for next week.

In a tweet posted on Thursday evening, Dr Aukot said that he will attend the debate to discuss and present his ideas to the people of Kenya.

I will attend the presidential @debates_ke on Monday 24th .This will be an issue based discussion and presentation of our ideas to Kenya

The Third Way Alliance candidate’s announcement comes just days after his running mate Emmanuel Nzai boycotted the Running Mates debate that took place on July 17 in Nairobi.

Deputy President William Ruto of the Jubilee Party, Nasa’s Kalonzo Musyoka and the running mates of five other candidates all failed to show up for the debate.

Only one candidate, Mr Muthiora Kiriara, who is the running mate to presidential candidate Japhet Kaluyu participated in the debate.
