Eric Wainaina launches his fourth studio album – PHOTOS

Award winning Kenyan musician Eric Wainaina officially launched his fourth studio album dubbed Dreams in Stereo last Friday at The Elephant.

The album includes collaborations with local artistes such as Kagwe Mungai, Kendi Nkonge, John Nzenze, Aaron Rimbui, Allan Wanjohi, Marvin Maveke and Benjamin Kaveseke Masinda.

The singer said that the album is personal to him in many ways having been able to be freer to himself.

He also says that it was influenced by his passion for musical theatre as well as personal influences that go past his Kenyan roots.

He released it after a 7 year hiatus, with his last album Love + Protest released in 2011.

He draws inspirations from Black Gospel, Blues, Soul, Funk and Reggae. The album is exclusively available on the Safaricom Songa App.

Revelers were treated to performances from the man of the night, as well as other artistes including Sage, Kendi Nkonge, Tetu Shani, The Nairobi Philharmonic Orchestra and Ayrosh.

The crowd also got to enjoy David Muriithi’s, better known as DJ D-Lite, urban mixes as they treated their taste buds to food and drinks that were on offer.

Eric Wainaina is best known for his hit songs Daima and Nchi ya Kitu Kidogo. He released his first album Sawa Sawa in 2011.
