Renowned gospel singer Anastacia Kakii, famous for her chart-topping song ‘Kiatu Kivue,’ has shared the heartwarming story of how she found love again and married Maurice William Juma after a nine-year hiatus following her divorce from her first husband, Mukabwa.

The couple exchanged vows at the Cathedral of Praise Church in Imara Daima in a beautiful ceremony in December 2022, marking a new chapter in Anastacia’s life.

In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, Anastacia expressed her gratitude for the second chance at love.

“I thank God for a beautiful wedding. God gave me a second chance. He did not give up on me. At His own time, He blessed me with a great husband,” she joyfully shared.

Approaching age 50, Anastacia initially grappled with skepticism about finding love again, compounded by challenges from her first marriage.

“Because of my age, now approaching 50 years, I thought I was not gonna find love again, plus the challenges I went through in my first marriage. I did not trust men,” she told Nairobi News.

Cautious and discerning, Anastacia says she navigated potential relationships with care.

“Some men just wanted to date me for my celebrity status. I had to be very careful about which man I would get married to,” she revealed.

Reflecting on the first year of her marriage, Anastacia declared it a blissful and blessed union, expressing no regrets.

“He is the best,” she said.

Anastacia shared the unique story of how she and Maurice met, explaining that he had confessed to having a crush on her many years ago.

“I was performing somewhere, and he just admired me,” she recalled.

Their connection, however, deepened during the challenging period of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We dated for three years, but he had seen me many years back. I did not know about him. That was like 20 years ago. He kept following me, and although he was married, his marriage was unstable. He looked for my phone number, and during the Covid-19 period, we started talking. His wife had died by then. We met, and the rest is history. It has been a journey,” Anastacia narrated.

Maurice, described as a servant of God living abroad, has supported Anastacia’s ministry and her children.

“He prays for me; I can describe him as my supportive system. He is the right man for me. I needed someone like him in my life. He listens to me and walks with me on all journeys,” she praised.

Anastacia says confirmation of their connection came through a divine revelation to Anastacia’s mother and sister.

“God confirmed it through my mother. A voice came to her and told her that I was going to meet the man. I was not also very sure about it. My sister also had the same voice, and that is how we connected,” she shared.
