Former MP accuses church of grabbing his dying wife’s land

A one-time ally of retired President Mwai Kibaki is suing a church over a disputed plot of land.

Former Nyeri MP Wanyiri Kihoro claims the church grabbed land belonging to his wife as she lay dying after a plane crash.

Mr Kihoro says the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) in Uthiru took the half acre and built a worship centre on it, after claiming to be the beneficiaries of his wife, the politicial activist Dr Wanjiru Kihoro, as she lay in a coma in Nairobi Hospital.
