Residents of Githurai 44 area, who use Ngumba Road a link road between Kamiti Road and Thika Highway, finally have a reason to celebrate after the Nairobi County government commenced on repair works on Saturday.

The pathetic state of the road was the cause of a near day-long demonstrations by operators of Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) which play the route on Tuesday morning.

The protest which involved matatu operators, tuk tuk and boda boda operators brought business on the busy road to a standstill.

Thankfully, the protests seemed to have triggered a positive reaction from the county government.
