Musician Charles Njagua Kanyi, popularly known as Jaguar, has said he will resign as a board member at the National Authority for Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (Nacada).

The musician cites chronic corruption at the board as the reason for his intention to resign.

This is barely two months after he was handed the job by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Jaguar was the surprise inclusion in the 302 officials named to the 79 state corporations.

The musician is set to hold a press briefing on Monday to explain the circumstances that have led to his resignation.

The anti-drugs agency has been marred by wrangles pitting Chairman John Mututho and a section of the board over alleged fraud involving Sh99 million.
