Kamene and Shaffie hired by NRG Radio
By Elizabeth NgigiMedia personality Kamene Goro is back at NRG radio. This time she will be working with former Kiss FM’s co-host Shaffie Weru and DJ Pierra Makena.
Kamene, through her Instagram page, announced that the trio will be on the drive show every Friday between 3pm and 7 pm.
“Good Morning My Loves!!!!!!! @shaffieweru @pierramakenaofficial do you think they are ready for this one?” Kamene wrote.
Shaffie and Kamene will succeed Mwalimu Rachel, who hosted the show alongside DJ Xclusive.
Kamene Goro exited Kiss FM after her contract came to an end in January, 2023 where she hosted the morning show alongside comedian Oga Obinna who has also left the station. She said she did not want to renew her contract with Radio Africa Group.

“The company did not fire me. My contract with them was up until the end of this month, January and there was no need for me to renew because I also told you I wanted more for my life,” she said.
Kamene joined Kiss 100 in 2019 from NRG Radio with her former bestie, Andrew Kibe alongside DJ Kace.
Shaffie Weru left Radio Africa in March 27, 2021 alongside Homeboyz breakfast show co-hosts Neville and DJ Joe Mfalme.
This was after an online uproar over comments made by the trio on a news story involving the pushing of a woman off the 12th floor of a building after she turned down the sexual advances of the man she was on a date with.

Shaffie had been with the company for close to 20 years before his contract was terminated. On January 30, the veteran media personality launched a podcast titled Shafted, pitting himself against his alter ego.
Kamene started her career as a prime time news anchor and reporter at Ebru TV. At Ebru, she also served as the host of Just the Facts, The Weekly Report, and Africa in Brief.
Kamene left the TV station in September 2015 but later rejoined the company in 2017 and assumed the role of head of news. However, Kamene left the station in late 2017.
Prior to joining the media, Kamene, who studied law, worked as a paralegal at Simani & Co Advocate from February 2013 to July 2013.
