According to the investigating team, Mr Bishnoi’s brother identified as Lawrence Bishnoi was the mastermind behind the brutal murder of the singer and he fled before it took place to avoid being noticed.

They said that it is Lawrence who allegedly obtained the fake passports for Mr Bishnoi and Mr Thapan.

Plans to extradite underway

Currently, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and the Mansa Police are preparing documents to extradite Mr Thapan to India to answer the charges.

Mr Bishnoi is allegedly facing 20 criminal cases which are pending against him. He usually brags about being a gang leader and never fears controversy.

In October 2021, he was released on bail from Jodhpur jail and has never been arrested ever since despite an order issued that he be nabbed.

The Indian police also said that Mr Thapan is wanted in connection to 12 criminal cases.
