Muhoozi ferries two ministers to Rwanda to celebrate his 49th birthday
By Elizabeth NgigiPresident Yoweri Museveni’s son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba flew to Rwanda to celebrate his 49th birthday with President Paul Kagame, in style.
And for good measure, Muhoozi ferried two Ministers with him including Jim Muhwezi (Security) and Nobert Mao (Justice).
Muhoozi who doubles up as his senior presidential Advisor in charge of Special Operations, was received in the Rwandan capital by Major General Willy Rwagasana, the Commander of the Republican Guard. Muhoozi looked very sharp in his sky blue suit, a blue pindot tie with black official shoes to complement the occasion.
Muhoozi had previously announced on his Twitter account that he would celebrate his 49th birthday in Rwanda.

The 49th birthday was a pale shadow of his 48th anniversary when roads were closed in Kampala and guests flown in from across the world to celebrate his birthday.
President Kagame and his wife Jeannette Kagame were also present at the State House banquet in Kampala.
The festivities for his 48th birthday included a marathon race and several street bashes.
President Kagame also attended Muhoozi’s 48th birthday in Uganda in an event that was hosted by President Yoweri Museveni.
Muhoozi has announced he will vie for the presidency in the country’s elections in 2026.

He is seeking to succeed his father who has ruled Uganda for close to four decades.
Muhoozi has in the past said that the only way he could make his mother proud was by becoming the leader of Uganda.
“The only way I can re-pay my great mother is by being President of Uganda! And I shall definitely do it!” he said.
He has expressed confidence that the opposition under musician-cum politician Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine would never lead Uganda upon his father’s retirement.
“To the Ugandan opposition, after my father, I will defeat you badly in any election. Ugandans love me more than they’ll ever love you,” he said.
Uganda will go to the polls in 2026 to elect a new president.
