Museveni’s daughter: I began hearing God at age 11
By Winnie MabelPastor Patience Museveni Rwabwogo, 45, one of the daughters of Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni, revealed she began hearing the voice of God at the tender age of 11.
Speaking on Urban Live’s People & Stories show while on a book promotion media tour, Pastor Rwabogo was at pains to explain how at first it was difficult for her to hear the voice but ended up hearing it and having conversations with it over time.
“I started hearing from God when I was young. I think around 11. That was the first time I heard distinctly a voice which was not somebody else’s voice. It was not an audible voice, but a voice that is very clear that you can hear. So I started just- it was like a conversation like how we are having a conversation now- you become more adept at recognizing the voice because you just continue a conversation,” began Pastor Rwabogo.
She clarified that the voice she hears is similar to the one she heard when she gave her life to Jesus Christ; and is the same voice someone hears when they read the Bible. Apparently, the voice grew stronger for her because of her knowledge of the word of God and her prayer life which built her relationship with God.
“I used to think everyone hears this voice but it was later on when I would talk to people and tell them’ why don’t you just ask God’ and from what they would say, I understood that maybe not everyone talked to God in the same way. But I believe it is open to every believer to be able to hear from God, I don’t think there is any- God doesn’t show partiality,” added Pastor Rwabogo.
On Jun 24, Pastor Rwabogo’s father, President Museveni, congratulated her for writing a book titled Jesus’ Africa.
“I want to congratulate Patience Rwabwogo for writing a book that links the Bible to NRM’s principles of patriotism & Pan- Africanism. This has made this book a masterpiece. She is correct in saying that we sold our birthright as Africans by being greedy and selling our brothers into slavery. Patience is trying to say that if we do not protect our birthright, the enemy will come and steal it. We must protect it. I also thank Patience for introducing our family to the line of Christian leadership being the 1st priest in the family. She has showed us that you can be a cattle keeper and also a priest. I congratulate her!” said President Museveni.
