The Jubilee Party has issued Senator Johnson Muthama’s estranged first wife Agnes Kavindu with a nomination certificate to run for Machakos Women Representative.

Ms Kavindu was among aspirants who received the Uhuru Kenyatta party’s green light to run in the August General Election on Monday in Machakos

“I thank the Jubilee Party for supporting women,” she said as she received the paper at Lysack Hotel.

“I promise to deliver in Jesus’s name.”

She hit the headlines in 2014 after she accused Mr Muthama of detaining and maltreating her in an attempt to evict her from their house.

Mr Muthama, a former close ally of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, quit the party last week and declared that he will defend his seat as an independent.
