Nyayo Estate woman who beat guard in viral video denies issuing death threats
By Joseph NdundaA woman caught on video allegedly beating up a female security guard she accused of having an affair with her husband in an incident caught on a viral video in Nyayo Estate, Embakasi within Nairobi, was charged with assault and issuing death threats.
At the Makadara Law Courts, Ms Alvin Ochieng was accused of unlawfully assaulting and causing actual bodily harm to Ms Miriam Sifuna, contrary to section 251 of the Penal Code.
Ms Ochieng, 34, is also accused of threatening to kill Ms Sifuna after allegedly uttering the words “nitakuua (I will kill you)” to the complainant without any lawful excuse in contravention of section 223 (1) of the criminal procedure code.
The suspect is accused of committing the crimes on September 26, 2023.
The accused person allegedly accused the complainant of having an affair with her husband during the alleged assault.

Ms Sifuna guards the house where the suspect lives.
Ms Ochieng is seen on the video dragging the guard on the ground while urging her to remove the uniforms and go live in her house and allegedly threatening to kill her while members of the public took pictures and videos.
She had driven in with a relative, and Ms Sifuna opened the gate for them.
The suspect threatened a man who tried to intervene to rescue Ms Sifuna.
Ms Sifuna reported the matter at the Embakasi police station the next day, and the suspect, who works at an office in Westlands, Nairobi, was arrested.
Ms Ochieng denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Monica Kivuti of the Makadara Law Courts and pleaded for lenient bail and bond terms.
She told the court through an advocate that she has a fixed abode in the state, which is known to the police.
Ms Kivuti released her on a cash bail of Sh30,000.
The case will be mentioned on December 7 before the hearing starts on June 26 next year.
