At least one officer was injured after a gas cylinder exploded at the Kasarani police line in Nairobi on Monday evening.
Property of unknown value was destroyed in the evening fire incident.
Fire engines were activated but got caught up in the rush-hour Thika Road traffic.
The incident resulted in a huge traffic snarl up around Kasarani area.

The fire has since been contained.
