Pastors from Pentecostal churches in Embu have threatened to expose politicians who seek the services of witch doctors ahead of next year’s General Election.

The 15 clergymen, under the auspices of Embu Bishops and Pastors Fellowship, said they have information that some politicians have resorted to witchcraft to get an edge over their opponents.

They said politicians also use witch craft to shield themselves from bewitchment by their adversaries.

The preachers vowed to use the powers of the Bible and prayer to exorcise the habit.

Speaking after an interdenominational meeting, lobby chairman Bishop Silvanus Njeru of the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya said witch doctors usually usually make a killing during election periods from Embu politicians.

“It has come to our knowledge that some politicians are visiting diviners and witch doctors. If they continue to visit those places, we will pray them out of leadership. We can’t allow our people to be led by those who visit witch doctors,” said Bishop Njeru.

The meeting was held at Gakwegori Mwamba Imara NICA church.

Witchcraft  is prevalent in Embu County and at one time the County Assembly had proposed to charge Sh5,000 for work permits to witch doctors in the county.

The plan was however dropped after said they could not trace the witch doctors.
