Patoranking to collabo with Sauti Sol
By Fransoir Nderitu, @KijanaNderituNigeria’s music sensation Patoranking has revealed that he is in talks with Kenya’s popular afro-pop band Sauti Sol for a collabo.
“We are in talks with Sauti Sol and we shall avail further information on the direction of the planned collaboration in the near future,” said Patoranking.
The musician made the revelation during a listening party for his new album held in Nairobi on Wednesday night.
Sauti Sol is one of the most sought after group in Africa for collabos having worked with Ali Kiba (Tanzania), Yemi Alade (Nigeria) and Mi Casa (South Africa).
Patoranking, born Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, is a Nigerian reggae and dancehall singer and songwriter, popularly known for his hit singles Girlie O, Daniella Wine and My Woman, My Everything.
He made a stopover in Nairobi to launch his debut album dubbed “God Over Everything” (G.O.E) at Uptown Grill.
The 16-track album features an array of collaboration, but notably is the remix of Daniella Wine featuring Jamaican musicians Elephant Man and Konshens.
“I am happy with the response and love I get from Kenya, my songs from Daniella Wine to My Woman, the love for my music by Kenyans is major and feels so much,” he said during the listening party.
The Nairobi event is part of the artiste’s Africa tour. So far he has visited Kampala and Dar es Salaam with plans to host similar listening parties in Lagos and Accra in the course of this week.
