Police investigating two murders at Kakuma Refugee Camp within four days
By Nyaboga KiagePolice officers in Kakuma, Turkana County are investigating two murder cases that have taken place within a refugee camp in the last four days.
In the most recent incident, a minor was stabbed to death within the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Turkana County.
According to the police, the incident took place on Tuesday, September 4, 2023, at Kakuma 3 Zone 1 Block 5 within the refugee camp.
Three people have already been taken in for questioning, although the police are yet to establish the motive.

“Police managed to arrest the main suspect and they also found a knife which is the killer weapon,” police said in a statement.
The body of the girl was found lying in a tent with stab wounds in the neck. Police said the suspect also resides within the refugee camp.
The incident happened just four days after armed men raided the refugee camp and killed a South Sudanese national.
Police officers identified the deceased as Mr Francis Lado Abraham who was 29 years old.

Police said the incident happened at Kalobeyei village within Kakuma refugee camp. The gang, which was armed with AK47 rifles.
The gang, cut the door leading to the house where the deceased was in using a sharp object to gain entry, police said.
They then shot the refugee in the head and escaped into the nearby thicket. The wife who was inside the house at the time of the incident told police the killers were speaking Arabic language.
Three spent cartridges of 7.62mm special were recovered at the scene. During the incident, nothing was stolen from the house, police said.
