Nairobi in darkness…
By NAIROBI NEWS TEAMA technical fault on a high voltage line on Thursday evening threw some residential areas in Nairobi and the capital’s CBD into darkness.
A press release from the Kenya Power company said that the affected high voltage lines supply bulk electricity from Juja Road substation to Muthurwa substation and Nairobi CBD Jevanjee substation.
Consequently, residents of Eastlands, Mathare North, Syokimau, Parklands, Ngara, lower side of the CBD, Tom Mboya Street, Muranga Road and adjacent areas experienced the blackout.
At the time of the receipt of the release, the power company said their engineers were engaged in the restoration process to minimise the duration of the interruption.
