Saitabao Ole Kanchory, who served as Raila Odinga’s chief agent during the 2022 presidential elections, has hinted at contesting for the presidency in 2027.

The famed lawyer shared his presidential bid via his social media account.

He also asked the youth to vote for him while promising to uplift their livlihoods.

He tweeted, “The next election is 4 short years away and since the campaigns have started (or never stopped), let me take this early opportunity to answer your call for me and other courageous young leaders to rescue our country from the wicked grip of political deception, conmanship and corruption that cuts across the current political divide. If we are tired of the same old FAKE folks, faces, and stories, let’s make 2027 the YEAR of TRUE CHANGE and a NEW DAWN.”

Before he came public with his political aspirations, Kanchory shared that he would not use his tribesmen to defend him or his policies on social media.

“When I am President, I will politely ask my Maa kinsmen not to be my most vocal and vitriol defenders in Parliament and on social media; it doesn’t help to build a fractured nation that way. Good thing their time is ticking fast,” he tweeted.

In an earlier interview, Kanchory claimed Mr Odinga lost to President William Ruto in the 2022 presidential elections due to disorganization and infighting in the coalition.

And in a book he has penned titled ‘Why Baba is Not The 5th,’ Kanchory claimed that Mr Odinga won the polls but gave the victory in a ‘tragicomedy’ orchestrated through lack of proper strategy and organization of the campaign team and staff.

“Elections in Kenya are won nor lost; they’re taken. Baba gave it away. He won, yes, but he gave it away. Presidential elections are there for those who are prepared to take it. There has never been an election in Kenya in the last nearly 20 years that has been won, all of them have been taken,” he said in an interview.
