Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai has called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and President William Ruto to act speedily and investigate the death of LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba.

The politician said Chiloba’s puzzling death must be investigated for the sake of justice.

“The killing of LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba must be investigated and perpetrators charged in court. President @WilliamsRuto and @DCI_Kenya boss must issue a strong statement against the murder,” Alai said.

He said that the late Chiloba was just living his own life and there was no need for anyone to kill him.

The late Chiloba, an Eldoret-based high fashion designer and an LGBTQ+ activist, was found murdered and stuffed inside a metallic box on the streets of Eldoret in Uasin Gishu County three days ago.

Several Kenyan celebrities who had worked with Chiloba have eulogised him as a good man. As the tributes continued pouring in on January 5 2023, Nairobi News found what was most likely Chiloba’s last interview before his murder.

This was after a body was found stashed inside a metallic box along the Kipenyo – Kaptinga road in Kapsaret, Uasin Gishu County, wearing woman clothes.

The box was dropped along the road by a motor vehicle whose registration number was sealed, and this was witnessed by bodaboda riders who alerted the police.

Chiloba has never shied away from dressing like a lady and sharing the images across his official social media accounts.

Nairobi News had earlier reported that his last Instagram post that he shared on December 29th, 2022, indicated that Chiloba had hoped to achieve multiple goals in 2023, among them growing his fashion brand and working with major companies.
