Four suspects linked to police officer’s brutal murder gunned down
By HILARY KIMUYUPolice on Saturday night shot and killed four suspects who they believe are connected to last month’s murder of a policeman inside a matatu during a carjacking incident.
A pistol, which according to the police had been robbed from the victim, was recovered from the slain suspects in the incident that happened in Dandora area, Nairobi.
Police say the four included a man that they termed as the leader of a gang which was behind the shooting to death of Corporal Martin Korir in Ruaraka on April 28.
According to police report, the gang was trailed to the area where they tried to engage the team of detectives in an exchange of fire.

“We recovered a pistol that was stolen from one of our officers who was killed in a carjacking incident of a bus on Thika Road,” the report said.
Police believe the gang had been behind a series of robberies in the area in the past months.
On Thursday, a policeman and an accomplice were charged in a Nairobi court with violently robbing 12 passengers during a carjacking incident.
The accused, Wycliffe Nyandigisi Motanya, and Dengah John Lenda, a tout, denied 12 charges, including violently robbing Korir in Ruaraka on April 28.
The policeman, already suspended for indiscipline, allegedly stabbed Korir before shooting him using his pistol during the incident that happened inside the matatu along Thika Road.
