The beloved media personality and celebrated Reggae MC, Mary Njambi Koikai, better known to her fans as Fyah Mummah Jahmby Koikai, will be laid to rest on Friday, June 14, at Lang’ata Cemetery.

Jahmby passed away at Nairobi Hospital on Monday at around 9 pm.

In a special edition of The Trend show on Friday night, CNN international correspondent Larry Madowo made a heartfelt return to pay tribute to Jahmby.

Jahmby, a former panelist on the show, was celebrated for her vibrant personality and contributions.

The show, currently hosted by Amina Abdi Rabar, featured former panelists Ciru Muruiki, Jeff Mote, and Anita Nderu, alongside actress Cindy Ogana and content creator Eddie Butita as guest hosts.

“She was the light of our show. She was the queen of shade in the show,” Larry Madowo remarked, bringing a moment of shared laughter amidst the somber reflections.

Cindy Ogana, who joined The Trend when Jahmby was beginning her treatment abroad, recalled her journey with the show.

“I was at Hot 96. I was so vocal on social media. Larry calls me and says there was a vacancy on the show. He said Jahmby is going overseas for her treatment. She got better and came back to the show, and we worked together again. I had met her before when she was an actor.”

Cindy fondly remembered Jahmby’s nickname, “Turbulence,” a testament to her love for reggae music.

Ciru Muriuki described Jahmby as the cheerleader of the team, always uplifting those around her.

The family is currently seeking KSh 3 million to cover hospital bills and burial preparations.

Comedian Eddie Butita reminisced about his first meeting with Jahmby in 2011.

“She was so confident and she would listen to me and accommodate everyone despite the connection.

I have never heard her hurt anyone. We still communicated after she came back from treatment. Her death has hit hard. I knew about Endometriosis through her, and we will continue creating awareness about the disease.”

Anita Nderu shared her cherished memories of Jahmby, particularly how she would guide her during the show.

“She was always correcting me and always made sure that all the topics appeared funny and witty. I learned about Endometriosis from her. Let’s help clear the bill for her by supporting the family.”

The team plans to pay their tributes on Wednesday from 10:00 am, dedicating the entire day to celebrating Jahmby’s passion for life and her indomitable spirit.
