Kenya’s rap sensation, Trio Mio has unveiled his grand vision of becoming a global influence and superstar.

With chart-topping success under his belt, the ‘Cheza Kama Wewe’ rapper is not just dreaming big; he’s taking the necessary steps to turn those dreams into reality.

In an interview with Audiomark Africa, Trio Mio bared his soul about his journey to becoming a rapper, revealing his aspirations to make an indelible mark on the global music scene. The interview, conducted by the streaming app on Saturday, Sep 23, unveiled the depth of his ambitions and his commitment to the craft.

Trio Mio is currently among the nine prominent artistes who are redefining the music landscape in Kenya. Audiomark Africa has launched the #KeepTheBeatGoing Campaign Lands in Kenya!, and they have also included Boutross, Burukulyn Boyz, BreederLW, Nikita Kering, Nyashinski, Bien Aime, Nadia Mukami, and Bensoul on their list.

The objective of this initiative is clear: to empower Kenyan artists and inspire music enthusiasts to explore the rich tapestry of sounds emerging from the region. In a statement released this week, Audiomark Africa highlighted their commitment to promoting Kenyan talent and music.

Trio Mio, fondly known as Mkuruweng, passionately described the Kenyan music scene as diverse, emphasizing its vibrant reflection of the country’s cultural richness. “I would use the word diverse to describe the Kenyan music scene right now,” he began, his voice filled with pride. “It’s a vibrant reflection of our cultural diversity.”

When asked about his distinctive sound and style, he confidently asserted, “My sound is new school, and I’m the chairman – hence Mkurugenz. I merge youthful or new age flows with witty lines and old flavors.” His unique fusion of elements sets him apart as an artiste with the potential to bridge generational gaps and appeal to a wide audience.

What truly sets Trio Mio apart, however, is his audacious vision for the future of Kenyan music. “Through my music, I want people to believe that Kenyan music can reach global heights,” he declared, his eyes shining with determination. “Our artistes can achieve success beyond our borders, our songs can top charts in other countries, and we can headline shows worldwide.”

Trio Mio firmly believes that this goal is attainable, stating, “Kenyan music is a rich tapestry of different genres and styles that resonate across various age groups. I envision Kenyans wholeheartedly loving, appreciating, and supporting our own.” He exuded confidence as he concluded, “It’s only a matter of time.”

In a testament to his rising star power, Trio Mio recently dropped a new track this month, featuring Breeder LW, which garnered rave reviews. As he continues to make waves and solidify his status as a musical force to be reckoned with, Trio Mio’s dream of global stardom inches closer to becoming a reality.
